On Oct. 28, Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area (Habitat GTA) hosted a grand-opening for its new ReStore in the Woodbridge community.
The organization was joined by local politicians and members of the community for the event. Habitat GTA operates 12 ReStores, and the new location at 551 Cityview Blvd. marks the third store opening in York Region this year. Woodbridge residents are encouraged to visit the store to shop, donate and volunteer.
In support of their homebuilding, Habitat for Humanity GTA operates retail home improvement stores called Habitat ReStore. The 12 locations across the GTA sell new and used donated home furnishings, appliances, and renovation materials to the public at a fraction of the original price. Habitat ReStore collects donations from the community, and proceeds from sales help cover the cost to build homes for families in need of safe, decent and affordable housing.
