Keep your vehicles off the road in Newmarket.

The Town of Newmarket is reminding residents its winter parking restrictions are now in effect and will remain until April 15, 2019.

Under these restrictions, residents cannot park any vehicle on any roadway or street between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. The restrictions apply even if there isn’t a significant snowfall.

When there is snow on the road, these are the hours snow removal fleets are most active. The snow-free nights helps crews meet service delivery standards for snow removal.

A car parked on the street impedes snow removal, meaning crews have to go around the vehicle and possibly return later. On-street vehicles also hinder the equipment operator’s sight line, putting pedestrians at risk.
