On September 24, Vaughan Public Libraries (VPL) hosted a fun and interactive program, Touch a Truck, at Pierre Berton Resource Library. Close to 700 children and adults attended. Being a P.A. Day for local elementary schools, children of all ages enjoyed various vehicles parked at the library. The City of Vaughan's Public Works Department, Animal Services and By-law and Compliance, Licensing and Permit Services as well as York Region Paramedic Services and Vaughan Fire & Rescue Service supplied the vehicles on display. A fire truck, school bus, gradall truck, motorcycle, an animal services' truck, the City of Vaughan's new mobile water trailer and more were available for children to go into and explore as well as talk to the drivers about what they do. Activities were also offered inside the library.
