On September 29th the Hesperus Village celebrated its 30th Anniversary on the festival of Michaelmas. Michaelmas falls near the autumn equinox and is a time of year where they give thanks for the bounty of summer and we begin to gather up strength and
fortitude to face the colder days and long nights of the winter ahead. In the morning, families from the Toronto Waldorf School gathered with residents of Hesperus Village to bake dragon bread. In the evening, Hesperus residents shared a meal of soup and bread with their Thornhill neighbours. The Honourable Peter Kent, MP, Regional Councillor Sunder Singh and Local Councillor Sandra Yeung Racco attended and paid tribute to Hesperus’ success and commitment to community.
