Hello Georgina!  I’m your current regional councillor and deputy mayor and have been for the past two years.

I’ve been a part of Georgina’s council for eight years, serving in Ward 1 for the first six.

I’ve lived with my family here in Georgina since 2000 and my family history dates back to the 1800s in Sutton.

My husband is an elementary teacher here in Georgina and we have two kids, ages eight and 13.  I have experience working with municipalities since 1989 and I have a BSc in mathematics.  I’ve run a successful small business in Keswick for the past 11 years, so I know how important it is to serve residents well, while keeping an eye on the bottom line.

My focus on council is responsible government, planning for the future and providing quality needed services to residents.  I’m careful with your tax dollars, work well with other council members and staff and am always available to listen to residents needs, issues or concerns.

I’m a great advocate for Georgina at the region and have earned the respect of council and staff, which ensures that we have the support we need when issues arise.

I’m proud to be York Region’s representative on the AMO board of directors.  Our council has created a comprehensive strategic plan, including an investment strategy and economic development strategy.  Our business park is draft plan approved and land alteration will begin on site very soon.

Georgina is moving forward into the future. Our town is an amazing place to live and there is still much to do.

Next, I will ensure that our new recreation centre is built responsibly and on budget. I’ll advocate for an additional long-term care facility for Georgina and work toward opportunities to build housing that is more affordable for families starting out and seniors looking to downsize.

With your support, I’ll continue to work for you, as your regional councillor and deputy mayor.
