I am seeking re-election after serving as the York Catholic District School Board Trustee for area 3 (Vaughan Ward 3) for the last four years.
Throughout my term as trustee I have worked to put students’ needs at the centre of all board decisions, and to preserve and promote publicly funded catholic education.
I am very proud to have been a part of the board’s successes over the last four years with respect to student achievement and well-being, such as: the introduction of a new international baccalaureate program for west Vaughan; the introduction of the secondary school French immersion program at Father Bressani Catholic High School; enhanced board mental Health initiative and anti-bullying strategy; increased special education funding above the levels provided by government; establishment of a high performance athlete program; the promotion and continuation of the Italian international language extended day program; and the expansion of the board’s consultation process to ensure parent engagement.
If I am re-elected, I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure our students have the resources, tools and skills to succeed. Let’s work together to put students’ needs at the centre of all decisions by:
- Increasing classroom resources;
- Promoting and preserving catholic education;
- Increasing investment in 21st century technology resources;
- Enhancing special education programming and resources;
- Expanding program access and equity for all students regardless of where you live;
- Ensuring fiscal accountability and transparency.
My leadership and experience:
- Bachelor of arts degree, University of St. Michael’s College
- Appointed member of the Social Security Tribunal of Canada
- Extensive policy and government relations experience (28 years)
- Member of Catholic School Councils (Chair/Vice-Chair for 8 years)
- Member of the Law Commission of Ontario Community Council
On Monday, Oct. 22, 2018 re-elect me to continue to help our students succeed!
