A busy stretch of Highway 7 in Vaughan will be closed this coming weekend for ongoing construction work in the area.
The road will be closed between the Highway 400 northbound exit and Edgeley Boulevard/Interchange Way from 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12 until 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15 for the installation of a box culvert.
The culvert, which is being installed across Highway 7 just west of Commerce Street, will allow for greater water flow and accommodate further growth planned in the area.
Multiple crews will be on-site to complete additional work activities, including overhead electrical work, paving and line painting.
There will be no access to the intersection of Commerce Street and Highway 7 and no access to the Highway 400 northbound on-ramp for westbound traffic during the road closure.
Paid duty police officers will be stationed at several locations including Highway 7 and Weston Road, Highway 400 off-ramps, Highway 7 and Edgeley/Interchange Way as well as at Highway 7 and Jane Street.
