My four years as mayor of this town, I have been a conduit to bring together the old and new residents of Whitchurch-Stouffville by building a strong, united community for everyone. I have been immersed in the ever-changing business community and diverse culture.

I will continue to defend rural Whitchurch-Stouffville by being a strong voice on agricultural and environmental issues at the municipal and regional level.

I will continue to work hard to ensure that new and long-term residents, young families and seniors have appropriate services and facilities to meet their needs in a fiscally responsible manner. During my term as mayor, together we have accomplished the building of many new town facilities and improved our town’s trail system.

I am working with the development community to see three new developments, which will add close to 1,000 units of retirement living with 330 beds dedicated to long-term care. Negotiations are also underway with York Region and a local landowner on Main Street to build a 100-unit development of affordable housing.

I will continue to promote good, clean, sustainable industrial and commercial economic development that will provide our residents with good jobs that are closer to home and will allow families more time together.

There are great additions to our town in development right now. The Longo’s plaza will have a GoodLife, and discussions are underway with many other businesses for this location, and professional office space will be available. This is an exciting new development for our town. 

I have been honoured to greet and participate in the opening of many new businesses over the past four years and am thrilled to see these opening in my hometown. There are too many to list here.

I will maintain open and honest communication with you, the residents, to keep you informed and to hear your opinions and concerns and keep you active in the governing process.
