Newmarket is invited to say farewell as Tony Van Bynen and Dave Kerwin retire

The Town of Newmarket is inviting residents to bid two long-serving politicians farewell.

Members of the community are invited to attend two separate events: the first to wish outgoing Newmarket Mayor Tony Van Bynen well, and the second to thank longtime Ward 2 Coun. Dave Kerwin for his four decades of service.

The Farewell Mayor in the Square event will celebrate Van Bynen’s 18 years on Newmarket council. It will take place Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Newmarket’s Riverwalk Commons.

The farewell event for Kerwin will be a community celebration of his achievements of nearly 40 years on council. It will take place on Sept. 30 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Environmental Park located on Woodspring Avenue.
