Keswick resident Susan Jagminas is back in the race for mayor of Georgina.
Despite the fact Jagminas withdrew from the race a few weeks ago, it was never official because it was past the deadline to remove her name from the election ballot.
“My name will be on the ballot in October, regardless of whether or not I campaign. But I have decided to campaign and have taken an unpaid leave of absence in order to do so,” she said.
Jagminas said she has many supporters who desperately want change, and she believes she is the person to usher it in.
“I want to bring back transparency, accountability, forward thinking and community engagement. I want to see residents’ needs come first. I want to make sure our tax dollars are being spent properly.”
Jagminas readily admits she is new to politics, but adds that may or may not be considered an advantage, depending on one’s perspective.
“If voters are content with the way the town is currently being run, then their choice is clear. If voters want to see positive change, better communication, more efficient government, transparency and accountability, then I believe I am the obvious choice.”
