Top issues:

1. Put students first

Every decision I make at the board table will be informed by what is best for students. I will actively collaborate with parents and kids on the decisions that matter most to them.

2. Bring integrity, honesty and accountability back to the YRDSB

I will act with the highest level of integrity, honesty and professionalism that being an elected official demands, and be a strong advocate for transparency and public declaration of conflicts of interest. I will fully support the idea of an ombudsman to ensure this.

3. Invest in kids, respect the public purse

I will post my detailed expenses online and advocate for all trustees to do the same as a matter of board policy. I will advocate for the restoration of the school repair fund that has recently been cut.

4. Anti-racism commitment

I hereby pledge my support for the goal and principles of anti-racism education and will work toward eliminating racism from our schools and society as a whole.

5. Advocacy

In all of my open meetings with parents, I will do all I can to support the development of their abilities to be effective and informed advocates for their children. I will build bridges both among trustees and between trustees and staff, informed by an unswerving belief that we must create something better and bigger.
