I am running for re-election because I have the experience and a proven track record of delivering positive initiatives for our community.

For more than 14 years I have been listening to residents and businesses and taking action to do what is right for Ward 4 and all of Vaughan. I have never shied away from difficult situations, but rather worked through issues collaboratively. Some matters take longer to resolve than others, but in the long run I have done my best to foster positive outcomes, and my record shows that we have been successful.

I believe the upcoming municipal election is vitally important to continue the great progress we have made -- as evidenced by the opening of the subway extension, construction of our new hospital and the tremendous development of our downtown, the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre. I am proud of my role in all of these projects, and my experience will help ensure we can continue to build and improve our city.

Experience matters. It’s easy for anyone to make promises, but knowing how to get things done is the key to moving forward prudently and efficiently.

Looking ahead, I am focused on long-term solutions to the ever-growing traffic congestion that is a top priority for so many residents. I am determined to work closely with the different levels of government and other authorities to make significant improvements to our transportation network, including filling in the missing link on Teston Road between Dufferin Street and Keele Street, and advancing the extension of Langstaff Road between Creditstone and Keele to alleviate much of the truck traffic that is compounding the traffic congestion on local and regional roadways like Highway 7.

I hope my action has demonstrated that I am worthy of your support and that on Oct. 22 you will vote to re-elect me to be your Ward 4 councillor.
