I am seeking another term as local councillor for Ward 1 representing the great residents of Maple and Kleinburg.

I have been a proven voice for the residents throughout my last two terms of council. I am proud of the fact that I have delivered on all my 2010 and 2014 election promises. These include making major policy changes to bring integrity and transparency to city hall, construction of the new Vaughan hospital which includes 2,000 well-paying jobs, approval of a new GO station at Kirby, and securing funding to conduct studies for a much needed centre-turn lane on Major Mackenzie in the Maple core. In addition, I obtained funding for the revitalization of the Kleinburg United Church/Pierre Berton Heritage Centre and two new artificial turf soccer fields and trail system for the new North Maple Regional Park.

Prior to politics, I spent two decades involving myself in education as the chair of various school councils, Maple family of Catholic school councils, and a member of the minister of education's parent involvement committee.

I have also served as a voice for environmental advocacy in matters important to our community. I have tackled landfills and waste management while serving as president of Vaughan CARES.  As a city councillor, I have been outspoken when it comes to the protection of environmentally sensitive lands in Vaughan. My voting record demonstrates my commitment.

Although I have achieved many important accomplishments, there is still much more to be done. During this term of council, I have spearheaded numerous initiatives that need unwavering attention and advocacy, such as implementing policies regulating Airbnb, revitalizing the Maple Community Centre, acquiring lands for a community centre and library in Kleinburg, and supporting Mayor Bevilacqua’s quest for a university health sciences facility on the hospital lands, which will bring education and job opportunities for our youth.

I am a proven candidate who brings honesty, integrity, passion, and commitment to Vaughan City Hall.
