Susan Korman, Richmond Hill mayoral candidate

I’m running to be your mayor for Richmond Hill. I love our town, its people and neighbourhoods. Despite this incredible community, we remain stuck in the past, with an out-of-touch mayor who has reigned for over 30 years.

It’s time for change, renewal and new ideas.

We are burdened with indecisiveness; a divided and ineffective political process --which has led to our budget being rubber stamped with no true citizen input.

Residents would prefer to keep money in their pockets than hand it over to government to spend without having a say or knowing truly what it's being spent on.

To prove to you my commitment for renewal, when elected, I will introduce a motion to limit terms. Term limits, break down entrenchment and entitlement.

1. The position you are seeking

Mayor of Richmond Hill

2. Educational and professional background

A graduate of York University; a specialized honours degree in psychology; was involved in changing the ideas of how mental health was viewed and treated. A resident of Richmond Hill for over 17 years; a business owner for the last six years; two children, Jonathan and Jennifer. To give back, I continue to help those without a voice.

3. Expertise that makes you a good candidate for council or school board

As a business owner, I know how hard it is to raise a family, live within your means, and what it takes to make smart decisions to ensure a business remains strong and employees looked after. I bring change, renewal, new ideas and accountability.

4. Issues you will champion, if elected:
