Linda Jackson has a long-standing commitment to the City of Vaughan having lived, worked and raised her family here for over 50 years, and is currently running for local and regional councillor. From 2002-2010, Jackson served as Ward 2 local councillor, local and regional councillor and mayor. Over the past eight years Jackson has built and operated a successful local business.

Jackson believes traffic, taxes and safety are a concern for all of Vaughan’s residents. If elected, Jackson plans to address traffic congestion by expanding existing LRT and subway lines to make them more efficient and accessible to all. Regional roads need to be expanded to include the use of HOV lanes. Jackson will look at ways to expedite this process at the Region of York to fast track the expansion of key roads.

Jackson will work in concert with council to maintain Vaughan’s low tax promise by holding any property tax increases below three per cent per annum. She will also look at ways to improve existing programs that make home ownership more affordable for the city’s aging population through increased awareness, ease of access and more substantial subsidies to the rebate programs.

Jackson is committed to ensuring the safety of our communities by ensuring police, fire and EMS services have the funding and support they need to keep pace with the ongoing growth of our city. Linda will work with all levels of government to make sure the City of Vaughan receives its fair share of funding and services so all of our residents can continue to thrive and maintain a superior quality of life.

On Oct. 22, elect Linda Jackson for local and regional councillor.
