Why I am running: Vaughan is a world-class city and I am proud of what we have accomplished. I am also proud of the people who live and work here. The people make this city. I want to work to put your voice first and fill in the gaps that have been overlooked. We all have a stake in Vaughan’s future. I will be a strong voice for you and your family.

Dear residents, my name is Fitz-Roy Gordon. I am running as councillor for Ward 1. If given the opportunity, I am looking forward to serving the diverse community in Ward 1. I have been serving families and communities for over 20 years as a teacher and school administrator with dedication and commitment. I have worked with charities and non-profits providing food, toys and clothing for children in need, providing free tutoring for students needing extra support and mentoring youths. I have served on numerous committees and boards, taking on leadership roles in various sectors.

My priorities for the next four years:

No three per cent tax increase --Fight for lower tax increase. Respect for your tax dollars.

Stop the gridlock --Solve the traffic gridlock, better traffic flow and management.

New youth centre --A one-stop centre for youth programs and services.

Improved seniors services --Creating seniors’ hubs across Vaughan to assist our seniors.

Family values --Restricting marijuana retail near schools, parks, and to youth under 19.

Responsible growth --Thoughtful and responsible infrastructure growth that's good for Vaughan while preserving our environment.

I am asking you to believe in my ability to bring real change to the city. We’ve had the same recycled candidates with recycled ideas. We need new ideas. City hall needs to work hard for you. On Oct. 22 vote for Fitz-Roy Gordon.
