Andrew Keyes first moved to Markham with his family in 1999. His two children, Catherine and Daniel, both graduated from Markham District High School before going on to complete their university degrees. Since moving to Markham, Andrew has been very active in his community, doing volunteer work and looking after the interests of his neighbours. Andrew is the former president of the Cornell Ratepayers Association and has worked with the City of Markham to ensure residents are treated fairly and their tax dollars are not squandered.

After completing his bachelor of applied arts degree, Andrew worked in the corporate communications and advertising field. In 1997 he founded his first business, which he successfully grew and still manages in Markham today.

With a passion for public service, Andrew has served on the Markham Cornell Advisory Group, where he worked to ensure city planning and development were aligned with the needs of his fast-growing community. He also contributed his time and expertise in support of the "Stop the Horns" group in Markham, and helped establish the Markham Senior's Coalition --a group dedicated to improving the lives of our seniors. Andrew currently sits on the board of the Markham Association of Community Champions (MACC).

As Markham Ward 5 councillor, Andrew is committed to serving the interests of all residents. He will focus on five priorities:
