Election debates, advance polls on roster in Georgina

Sept. 29 is the first of four advance polls for the upcoming municipal election on Monday, Oct. 22.
The town has employed a “vote anywhere” approach, meaning residents can vote at any of the advance voting locations.
All voting places will be physically accessible throughout the election.
Voters who cannot mark a paper ballot and want to vote independently are encouraged to attend the following advance voting assistive devices locations:
Upcoming candidate debates and informal meet and greets will provide residents an opportunity to garner more information regarding where the candidates stand on the issues that matter most to them.
The Briars Association hosts a Ward 4 candidates debate at The Link in Sutton Sunday, Sept. 23 from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
The Pefferlaw Association of Rate Payers (PAR) hosts a mayoral and regional councillor debate at the Pefferlaw Lions Hall Monday, Sept. 24 beginning at 7 p.m.
And a meet and greet with all the candidates hosted by the Georgina Chamber of Commerce takes place at The Link Tuesday, Sept. 25 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. with formal speeches beginning at 7 p.m.
