Police, Vaughan Fire rush to gas leak in Thornhill neighbourhood

Enbridge on way to shut down gas line in Bathurst Street, Hwy. 407 area

York Regional Police and Vaughan Fire and Emergency Services headed to a location on Wigston Place in the area of Bathurst Street and Hwy. 407 in Thornhill for reports of a gas leak Aug. 7.

The call came in to both services at 8:51 a.m., police said.

Vaughan Fire asked homeowners on Wigston Place to stay inside their homes, so no evacuations of homes are planned at this time.

Enbridge Gas is reportedly on the way to shut down the gas line in the area to prevent any further leakage.
