Construction has begun on phase 2 at the Meadows of Aurora. This addition to the Christian seniors community will offer comfortable community living with several amenities. The master plan for the Meadows of Aurora is to enable seniors to age in place so they are able to be part of the community.
Just the Facts:
- The Meadows of Aurora is owned and operated by the nonprofit organization York Region Christian Senior Homes Inc. It is located at 400 William Graham Dr. in Aurora.
- Phase 1, or the Garden Tower, was completed in two stages, 1A was finished in 2016, while 1B was completed spring of this year.
- The groundbreaking ceremony for phase 2 was held Aug. 24.
- Phase 2, or the Woodland Towers, is considered the flagship as it will house many amenities for the community, including a restaurant overlooking the pond, a bistro, lounge area, public and private dining rooms, health care facilities, fitness and health care centre, hair care services, multi-purpose auditorium and more.
- There will be east and west towers with 11 suits per floor and a total of 110 residences. Units will range in size from 950 to 1450 square feet.
- There will be 60 long-term senior care units along with a memory care facility with 20 planned units and a garden.
- The project is expected to be completed in 2021. There are plans for two more phases in the future.
