If you are looking to beat the heat on these last days of the summer holidays, why not make a splash at one of these pools? Enjoy outdoor pools, winding slides and recreation programs.

1. The Wave Pool -- Richmond Hill

Swim or play in the waves at the Wave Pool, located at 5 Hopkins St. There is also a 100-foot water slide, sauna, warm water swirl pool, toys and water basketball nets. The pool has life guards and life jackets. Visit richmondhill.ca for hours and admissions.

2. Morgan Pool -- Markham

Enjoy the sunny weather while cooling off in this outdoor pool located at 11 Parkway Ave. in Markham. Open from June 29 until Sept. 3, there are a number of drop-in programs including lane swim, parent and tot, rec swim and aquafit. Visit Markham.ca.

3. Gorman Outdoor Pool -- Newmarket

This heated outdoor pool at 424 D'Arcy St. is open from until the beginning of September. It features a gradual slope from the shallow end to the deep end (five feet), along with lifeguard supervision, picnic benches and change rooms. Visit Newmarket.ca/swimming.

4. Leisure Pool -- Georgina

There are three pools to choose from at 5279 Black River Rd. -- the lap, leisure and therapy pool -- or make a splash on the winding slide. For more information about programs, fees or schedules visit Georgina.ca, email pool@georgina.ca or call 905-722-1429.

5. Garnet A. Williams Pool -- Thornhill 

The Garnet A. Williams Pool is located at 501 Clark Ave W. and features a 25-metre leisure pool, ramp access, a shallow water play area with stepped beach entry, a Tarzan rope and whirlpool. For schedules and fees, visit Vaughan.ca.
