It's summer in Canada and that means construction.

There are numerous projects and repairs happening across York Region including a rehabilitation project at Mulock Drive and Hwy. 404 that has been slowing traffic in the area.

Just the facts:

-- Contract start date was in April 2018

-- According to Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation (MTO), the work involves a number of improvements including concrete repair, the replacement of the expansion joint, hot mix asphalt pavement, drainage, the replacement of existing bird screens, and the application of concrete sealer and anti-graffiti coating.

-- This project has caused lane, ramp and road closures. According to the ministry, the closures will change from week to week depending on the work being done. To keep up-to-date with these closures and other traffic conditions across the province visit Ontario 511 traveller information website at 511on.ca/. It is updated regularly.

-- Another project in the area is the Davis Drive structural rehabilitation at the Hwy. 404 overpass north of the Mulock Drive bridge and it includes similar work and closures.

-- The expected completion date for the project is scheduled for September or fall 2018
