Richmond Hill Ward 3 acclaimed as election candidate registration closes

56 candidates running for all seats in Richmond Hill

The Richmond Hill’s town clerk has declared Castro Liu Ward 3 councillor, elected by acclamation, as the registration for the upcoming municipal election closed on July 27.

The Town of Richmond Hill still has plenty of choice to make when heading to the polls in October.

There are 18 candidates in the running for five other councillor seats.

Five candidates are in the running for the mayor’s seat, including incumbent Dave Barrow.

Meanwhile, eight candidates will be campaigning for two seats for local and regional councillors.

Registered voters in Richmond Hill will head to the polls on Oct. 22 to elect one mayor, six councillors, two regional and local councillors, and two school trustees from a total of 56 candidates.

The Richmond Hill candidates for the 2018 municipal election:

Mayor:
Abu Alam, Dave Barrow, Susan Korman, Ali Noroozi, Mino Tari.

Regional:
Murtaza Bhujwalla, Carol Chan, Weibo Cheng, Jason Cherniak, Joe DiPaola, Ramin Faraji, Sabine Ho, Carmine Perrelli.

Ward 1:
Greg Beros, Carol Davidson, Trifon Haitas, Lidia Kafieh.

Ward 2:
Michael Aziz, Keith Menezes, Tom Muench, Mike Rajbar, Scott Thompson.

Ward 3:
Castro Liu.

Ward 4:
