5 weekly car shows in York Region to get your motor running

1. Thornhill Cruisers -- Markham

The Thornhill Cruisers meet Monday nights in front of the Canadian Tire Store at 2900 Major Mackenzie Dr. in Markham from 6 to 9 p.m. There is no charge for the weekly events, and all ages are welcome. The club also participates in a number of other car shows.

2. The Ones Vehicle Events -- Georgina

This weekly show at the Georgina Ice Palace features kids' Lego contests, weekly draws, adult and kid games, food vendors, music and door prizes. Event takes place Saturdays until September (weather permitting).

3. Highway 11 Cruisers -- Newmarket

Highway 11 Cruisers host Hot Ones Cruise Nights on Tuesdays from May 1 to Oct. 30 in the Home Depot and Harvey’s parking lot, from 6 p.m. to dusk in Newmarket (weather permitting). Admission is free, and donations to Jumpstart Rallying for Kids are welcome.

4. Aurora Car Club -- Aurora

Every Sunday until Sept. 9, the Aurora Car Club hosts a weekly cruise night featuring classic, antique, custom and special-interest vehicles at the Stronach Aurora Recreation Centre from 6 p.m. until dusk. There is no admission, but the club fundraises for the Aurora Food Pantry.

5. Markham Classic Cruisers -- Stouffville

The Markham Classic Cruisers host their weekly evening cruise Wednesday nights (weather permitting) at the Stouffville Royal Canadian Legion, at 150 Mostar Dr., from 5 p.m. until dusk. The club welcomes all classic, custom and unique vehicles, including motorcycles.
