City of Vaughan Public Works Open House

The City of Vaughan Public Works Department hosted its annual Public Works Open House on May 26. This was an opportunity to learn about the services Public Works staff provides and how they are improving connections in our environment. Families enjoyed activities including a live music performance by Girl-Pow-R, paw patrol live meet and greet, in the kids zone there was face painting, balloon twisting, waste diversion basketball and much more. Public Works vehicles displayed live demonstrations about City vehicles, water quality, sanitary sewers, solid waste management and road maintenance. Attendees were able to exchange damaged City-Issued blue boxes, kitchen containers and green bins or purchase new ones. There were many prizes, raffles and giveaways. Diabetes Canada Clothesline Drive also donated gently used clothing. Other participants included were Vaughan Fire and Emergency management, York Regional Police, By-Law Enforcement, Miller Waste, Animal Services and more!
