There were no injuries Tuesday evening when a three-storey heritage building in Ottawa partially collapsed.

Ottawa Fire Services says it received multiple 911 calls about the collapse (at 1119 Wellington Street West) just after 6:30 p.m. ET.

Firefighters searched the 144-year-old building with a rough stone exterior to confirm there were no injuries.

Fire officials have determined that the remainder of the building appears stable, but they and city staff are trying to determine if the building can be salvaged.

Because of the partial collapse, seven adults have been displaced from adjoining properties.

There was no immediate word on damage estimates or what may have caused the collapse.
