King Township has launched an online engagement platform to help residents make their voices heard.

The online site called SPEAKING is designed to provide an easy channel for King residents to contribute ideas and feedback on municipal matters.

Through the site residents will be able to engage with important projects through online surveys, discussion forums, crowdsourcing maps, and question and answer forms.

“The big thing about this platform is to be able to push out information, but more importantly is to listen to residents and find out what’s important to them,” said King spokesperson Jason Ballantyne.

Launched on July 11, the site also hosts information, documents, and updates on ongoing projects.

At the moment, the site features two projects--Integrated Community Sustainability Plan and Village Streetscaping--and will continue to roll out more projects throughout the year.

Ballantyne said the platform is monitored 24-7 by experts who are able to provide real-time responses.

Residents can register from the main page of www.king.ca to join conversations and receive custom notifications.

King Township launched SPEAKING with Bang the Table, a digital public engagement company. The town is currently on a three-year contract with the company.
