York Region Events: 5 activities to do with your kids at the library this week (July 15 to 21)

The kids are home and the weather is hot. Why not stop by one of the local libraries in York Region? Here are five great events happening this week.

1. Visit the Stouffville Library for Chess Club on July 16 from 4 to 6 p.m. This free drop-in program gives kids eight and older the opportunity to play chess with other kids.

2. Your kids can help stop an evil programmer from spreading a dangerous computer virus during Cyber Crimes Escape Room on July 18 at the Aurora Library from 2 to 3 p.m. Open to children ages eight to 10. This event is free, but advance registration is required.

3. Calling all young scientists, the Vaughan Public Library, Ansley Grove Branch, is presenting Science North Workshops. Tickets are $10 and include seven hands-on stations and free admission to a science show. There are two sessions on July 19, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

4. Cool off and enjoy the movie Peter Rabbit on July 20 at the Georgina Library, Keswick Branch, during Friday Films and Freezies. This free drop-in event features a different movie every Friday. Begins at 10:30 a.m.

5. Kids can get creative and use their imagination to design and build during a Lego Block Party at the Richmond Hill Library, Richmond Green Branch, July 21 from 4 to 4:45 p.m. For children ages six to 12.
