Who says you can't swim without your clothes on? That's a requirement on Wednesday, July 18 at Making Waves Swim School, which has locations in Brampton, Milton and Vaughan.
To celebrate National Drowning Prevention Week, Making Waves will host its annual Water Safety Day on July 18. At each location, students will participate in swimming lessons fully clothed to simulate falling into the water unprepared. The Brampton pool is located at 99 Rosedale Ave. and will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. that day.
Drowning is the second leading cause of preventable death for children under 10 years old. Most accidents occur when people are fully clothed.
Making Waves has been operating since 1994 and currently teaches more than 6,000 students per week out of its three locations.
