Vaughan hosts Canada Day at Boyd Conservation Area

Event includes inflatables, rock climbing, a zip line, life-size games and a disco dome

Vaughan hosts its annual Canada Day event on Sunday, July 1 at Boyd Conservation Area.

This event features activities and entertainment including live performances, inflatables, rock climbing, a zip line, life-size games, a disco dome, a fully accessible inflatable maze, face painting, arts and crafts, a business zone and a food zone.

Featured artists include JENNA Nation, Jordan John, Epic Journey Tribute and headliner Virginia to Vegas, a 2018 Juno nominee for Breakthrough Artist of the Year.

Headline entertainment will be hosted by Mocha Frap from KiSS 92.5.

The event offers free admission and runs from noon to 8 p.m. at 8739 Islington Ave.

Canada’s Wonderland hosts a month-long birthday celebration that starts June 30 and finishes July 31.This event is free with park admission.

July 1 will feature a fireworks display, West Coast Lumberjacks, Cirque Canadien and the Craz-E-Crew Stunt Team. It will also include live music, authentic Canadian food, street performers and more. West Coast Lumberjacks will compete in log rolling, tree climbing, axe throwing, chainsaw carving and more. With Cirque Canadien, you may be mesmerized by a display of acrobatics, mystique and athleticism as the performers bring you on a journey through the seasons of Canada. The Craz-E-Crew Stunt Team provides extreme sports stunts with BMX bikes and skating. Starlight – Northern Reflections is a night-time spectacle with a stunning display of lighting, music, lasers and water effects, set to the backdrop of 3D projection on Wonder Mountain. Live bands will play some of Canada’s best tunes, from the east to the west coast.

An energetic show will celebrate Canadian fiddle music and step dance. Experience the magic of First Nations History with White Pine Dancers through song and dance as well as celebrating Canada. Each performance offers song, vibrant colours, flowing movement and thundering drums. Enjoy the antics of stilt walkers, jugglers and more in Celebration Plaza. This runs to July 31.
