TTC riders are dealing with major subway delays on Line 1 due to signal and switch issues at the Wilson Yard.

In a tweet, the TTC said service on that line will be “severely impacted,” and riders will experience longer than normal wait times.

TTC spokeperson Brad Ross told CityNews 13 trains will be taken from Line 2 to supplement service.

He said seven trains will run between Vaughan Metropolitan Centre and Lawrence West stations, with 60 shuttle buses from Lawrence West to St. George stations. Train service will then run from St. George to Finch stations.

“It is going to be incredibly busy and crowded morning,” Ross said. “I would suggest that people leave lots of extra time.”

Ross also said he wouldn’t normally say this but “perhaps consider an alternate this morning.”

It is not yet known what caused the signal issues, but Ross said there were software updates made to the system at Wilson Yard on Thursday. However, he said the TTC is working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

GO Transit said TTC riders can travel from Finch Station to Yorkdale stations for the cost of a TTC fare.
