Approval recommended for Maple development

At its May 8 meeting, Vaughan committee of the whole considered a final report recommending approval of a zoning by-law amendment application by Ace Developments (2057 Major Mackenzie Drive) for 2057 Major Mackenzie Drive. Ace proposes to develop 50 stacked back-to-back townhouses and 15 regular stacked townhouses, and to retain the original portion of a heritage dwelling known as the Joshua Oliver house.

The applications have been appealed to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal. Staff recommends that should the LPAT approve the zoning by-law amendment, its order be withheld to allow for finalization of the implementing zoning by-law amendment and resolution of comments from the city and from Metrolinx.
