On April 7th, the Victoria International Ballet Academy celebrated their 15th anniversary. Guests from Vaughan City Hall along with students and staff acknowledged this wonderful milestone with a cake cutting at the academy located at 7 Bradwick Drive in Vaughan. The academy was founded in 2003 by Ms. Victoria Mironova, a Russian ballerina, qualified ballet teacher, M. Ed., and professional choreographer. Victoria had nine years of ballet studies at the Vaganova Academy of Ballet, in St. Petersburg, Russia, and five years of university studies majoring in ballet pedagogy and choreography. Her professional work experience comprises 21 years of a professional career as a ballerina at the Mihailovsky Opera and Ballet theatre. After retiring as a ballerina, Victoria started teaching at the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet, in St. Petersburg. After moving to Canada and settling in Thornhill, she decided to pass her knowledge to students in Canada who wanted to study according to the Vaganova syllabus. The academy is proud to have taught ballet to thousands of children during these last 15 successful years. Please visit their website at: www.victoriaballet.com/.
