A motorist was taken to hospital with minor injuries after a car slammed into a house in Vaughan the morning of Nov. 27.

The crash happened just before 10 a.m. on Ravineview Drive, in the Kirby Road and Keele Street area, according to a police spokesperson.

It appears the car rolled up the driveway and struck the home just below a large window, smashing through the stone and brick work and causing a windowpane to collapse.

No one was home at the time, Vaughan Deputy Fire Chief Deryn Rizzi said.

“The patient has been transported to Mackenzie Health (as a precaution),” Rizzi said. “Building standards is currently on location to assess the damage.”

Little else is known, at this point about the driver or the cause of the collision, which is under investigation by police.
