On September 28th, 2017, Meta Centre was joined by the De Zen family, the Honourable Steven Del Duca (MPP Vaughan), Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Vaughan councillors. Also invited were the major donors to the capital campaign of the James De Zen Centre of Abilities. On this day, Meta Centre marked an historic achievement when it held a ground breaking ceremony for its new Vaughan location, which will be named after the late James De Zen—youngest son of Vic and Angelina De Zen.

The James De Zen Centre of Abilities will be located at 7465 Kipling Avenue and will provide integrated and varied programming for adults and children with special needs. The new state-of-the-art facility will be designed to address the growing need for services in Vaughan.

In honour of his legacy, the James De Zen Centre of Abilities will work to continue to accomplish the philanthropic works of both James De Zen and the rest of his generous family.
