On a mission to get more Canadians to become “Lyme-aware,” the Magnotta Winery group hosted its second annual Vaughan Walk for Lyme event on September 24th. Supported by the City of Vaughan and Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua, the event was held at Vaughan City Hall.

At the helm of the event, was the CEO of Magnotta Winery—Rossana Di Zio Magnotta—who kindly welcomed everyone. The walk later began and participants learned essential facts about Lyme disease through a series of sidewalk signs installed along the walk route.

After a beautiful and charitable walk, all net proceeds from the walk went towards the non-profit organization G. Magnotta Foundation for vector-borne illnesses. As mentioned on the foundation’s website: “One of its primary focuses is to establish Canada’s first research centre for vector-borne illnesses, including Lyme disease which is growing rapidly across Canada.” To learn more about the walk and/or about the foundation, please visit: www.gmagnottaresearch.com/
