Winds gusting up to 100 km/h caused mayhem on Woodbridge roads Sunday afternoon as 10 broken hydro poles came down on Islington Avenue near Rutherford Road.
One man, identified only as A.J., had a pole land right across his windshield, according to media reports. He told a Toronto media outlet that he blacked out, but then managed to escape from his car and get himself to hospital.

Hydro outages were felt right across York Region due to the winds.
Some 35,000 customers were without power in Vaughan Sunday for a number of hours.
Small pockets of outages were also felt in Aurora, Markham and Richmond Hill. Power was restored throughout the night to all but a handful of users who, Alectra said, will be restored Monday morning.
