It's time to talk about the City of Vaughan's 2018 budget and your input on how your tax dollars are spent is wanted.

You paid an extra 2.9 per cent this past year over 2016 - a $40 jump on the average house valued at $667,000 - and sent the city an average of $1,428 on the city portion of your tax bill.

So it's in your interest to get involved in the process and tell the City of Vaughan what you want and how you want your money spent.

You can get involved in the process in a number of ways:

• Attend public meetings at Vaughan City Hall, 2141 Major Mackenzie Dr., Vaughan, at 7 p.m. on Nov. 6, 13, and 23 or watch the meetings online at www.vaughan.ca. A special council meeting to approve the budget is planned for Dec. 11.
• You can provide input through an online budget feedback form at vaughan.ca/budget.
• Call 905-832-8610 to leave a message that will be shared with staff.
• Learn about the budget on the city's website at vaughan.ca/budget.
• Email any questions or comments to the city at budgeting@vaughan.ca.
