As it opened its new gym in Vaughan, GoodLife Fitness donated to a local charity for kids with autism spectrum disorder.
GoodLife Fitness opened its fifth location in Vaughan on Aug. 29 and the GoodLife Kids Foundation donated $10,000 to Giant Steps.
Foundation representative Rachel Leroux was on location at 3420 Major Mackenzie Dr. for the opening ceremony and cheque presentation to Giant Steps event coordinator Julia Fabrizio.
Giant Steps is a local organization that serves as a school and therapy centre to help children with autism spectrum disorder. The $10,000 donation will be used to support equipment purchases for Giant Steps’ Sports and Rec Club.
The Sports and Rec Club offers autistic children a space to exercise, move, and socialize in a variety of sports, social and recreation activities.
GoodLife Fitness’ new location offers full amenities, including a Turf Zone, cardio, free weight and strength training equipment, certified personal trainers and group fitness classes.
