See you later alligator; after a while crocodile.

Despite claims of a gator/croc sighting in Richmond Hill's Mill Pond Tuesday, Town staff couldn't find one there all day Wednesday and Thursday and called off their search as of 3 p.m.

"No evidence of a reptile of this nature was found in the ponds or surrounding area despite numerous and thorough attempts to locate one throughout Wednesday afternoon/evening and today," said Town of Richmond Hill staffer Meeta Gandhi.

She said a notice will be distributed to homeowners whose homes back onto the pond.

"We've been very thorough in our investigation. We have OSPCA on site, we have our staff on site, Reptilia is on site, we are looking at all kinds of methods to find it," Gandhi had said Thursday morning.

She said nobody from the Town or from any other organization had as yet been able to find the reptile but attempts to locate are "very thorough," Gandhi said.
