Canada's largest municipally-owned electric utility awards additional project following recent win for best customer information system implementation
has signed a master services agreement (MSA) with Alectra Utilities, North America's second-largest municipally-owned electric utility that serves nearly one million customers in Ontario's Greater Golden Horseshoe Area and provides innovative energy solutions to these and thousands more across Ontario. The MSA encompasses services that will help the organization align and transform its IT and business operations following the recent merger of PowerStream, Enersource, Horizon Utilities and Brampton Hydro.
The MSA supports a large transformational project that will result in a single, digital customer information system (CIS). CGI is providing business transformation consulting, assembling best-fit partners as well as providing overall project governance and systems integration services.
"We count on CGI to contribute business transformation expertise, assemble the right partners and provide the governance needed to ensure that our IT systems enable Alectra's objective to bring innovative energy solutions to Greater Golden Horseshoe families and businesses", said Brian Bentz, President and CEO of Alectra. "We are confident that CGI will deliver the same high-value productivity outcomes on this project, as they did for one of our predecessor utilities in the past."
A previous project to implement a scalable, consolidated CIS for PowerStream was awarded CS Week's Expanding Excellence Awards for "Best customer information system implementation" in May 2017.
"CGI values its five-year relationship with Alectra and we are excited to help them in their ongoing efforts to modernize and transform their services to benefit their customers" said Mark Boyajian, CGI President, Canada Operations."
