Aurora-Oak Ridges-Richmond Hill MP Leona Alleslev is inviting youth in her riding between the ages of 14 and 25 to apply to be part of the 2017/2018 Constituency Youth Council (CYC).
This year’s CYC follows the success of last year, Alleslev’s office says. The council includes youth from her riding that meet every one to two months to discuss what matters to them.
Examples of work the CYC does include community projects organized to make a “positive impact” and “strengthen ties” in Aurora-Oak Ridges-Richmond Hill.
CYC is a nonpartisan council that focuses on different perspectives. Topics discussed last year include a youth perspective on national issues such as youth employment, access to education, building stronger communities, international relations, innovation, and more.
To apply, youth can fill out an application form at LeonaAlleslevMP.ca or Facebook.com/LeonaAlleslev, or the constituency office at 202-12820 Yonge St. in Richmond Hill.
Applications are due midnight by Sept. 30.
