1. Welcome September with a bang and enjoy a spectacular fireworks display at Canada’s Wonderland on Sept. 3 at approximately 10 p.m.
2. Get a glimpse of Newmarket’s past with sketches and watercolours of historic Newmarket done by George Luesby. Display opens on Sept. 1 and runs until Nov. 30 at the Elman W. Campbell Museum.
3. Explore how our lives are shaped by relationships, stories and the places we inhabit at Oh! Canada? an interactive pop-up exhibit for all ages. From Sept. 2 to Sept. 3 at JEH Macdonald House in Thornhill.
4. Celebrate the last official long weekend of summer in Unionville. Enjoy music, entertainment and shopping from Friday to Monday, as well as horse and carriage rides on Sunday, Sept. 3.
5. Find inspiration for healthier school lunches during Kids Celebrate Canada, a free event at Simonston Park in Markham on Sept. 3 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Enjoy healthy snacks, yoga, coffee and more.
