Whitchurch-Stouffville Council made some organizational changes on Tuesday, appointing Rob Raycroft the new deputy CAO, corporate services, and Richard Renaud as fire chief.
Raycroft has been employed by the town for 13 years. Most recently, he served as director of leisure services and acting CAO. In his new role, Raycroft will update the town's human resources practises and ensure corporate services' functions provide the highest levels of service.
With the promotion of Raycroft, the town will commence a search for a new leisure services director.
Renaud brings more than 25 years of experience as a firefighter, paramedic and various supervisory positions within the fire service. Most recently, Renaud served as the town's deputy fire chief.
Council was very pleased to see action on a number of outstanding issues and looks forward to working with Raycroft and Renaud in their new roles, Mayor Justin Altmann said.
In addition to the promotions, council approved a new 2017-2018 senior management work plan, focusing on bringing improvements to the town's financial planning and budgeting, procurement policies and department master plans.
Now that council has approved the senior management work plan, work will commence in earnest to improve internal operations at the town, Martiuk said.
