Hundreds showed up in Richmond Hill to view the solar eclipse.
York Region Astronomy hosted a public viewing event that brought together participants of all ages at the Richmond Hill Public Library on Atkinson Street on the afternoon of Aug. 21.
People were waiting close to 30 minutes to just park their vehicles and then proceeded to wait in line to get eclipse viewing glasses. Due to the number of people who attended, the stock of glasses quickly ran out.
However, all was not lost as some came equipped with their own hand-made viewing devices.
