Rev your engines. Summer is the best time to show and shine. Look, but don’t touch.

There are a number of classic and exotic car shows taking place this weekend.

It’s every car lover’s dream — from hot rods to horse power, there are plenty of cars on display this weekend in York Region.

There are show and shine events featuring American muscle classics, Italian supercars and everything in between in Newmarket, Aurora, Georgina, Whitchurch-Stouffville and Vaughan.

Enjoy live entertainment, food, contests and prizes as well as car paraphernalia.

When the dust settles, check out these fast car events:

1. Rods by the River, Aug. 12, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Fairy Lake in Newmarket. 

2. The Ones Car Show, each Saturday 6 to 9 p.m. at the Georgina Ice Palace.

3. Italian Car Day, Aug. 13 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Boyd Conservation Area in Vaughan.

4. Antique and Classic Car Show, Aug. 13, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum.

5. Cruise Night, every Sunday, 6 to 10 p.m. at the Stronach Aurora Recreation Complex.
