Outdoor recreation plays an important role in city life. As the City of Vaughan continues its transformation into a world-class city, supporting and enhancing leisure and sports opportunities in the community is a key priority. Phase 1 development of North Maple Regional Park is a significant part of realizing this vision.
As the largest and most ambitious park development project in Vaughan history, the 200-acre property is envisioned to be a city-wide cultural and recreational destination that features a variety of year-round uses for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council officially broke ground on the site last month. The first phase of park development includes construction of two artificial turf soccer fields, parking and trail improvements. The park is planned to be open for public use by summer 2018.

North Maple Regional Park is located on the east side of Keele Street, between Teston Road and Kirby Road. The park and surrounding open space areas celebrate the surrounding natural environment through design features that respect and tell the story of the Oak Ridges Moraine landscape and the history of the area.
