The best way to celebrate Canada’s 150th milestone birthday and anniversary—which also goes by the name of sesquicentennial—is with the community unified in celebration. And this year, throughout the community there are unique ways everyone is celebrating the country’s birthday.
In Vaughan, one of the celebrations involved a story time session with the Mayor. In celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary, Vaughan Public Libraries (VPL) presented a special family story time with Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua at the Civic Centre Resource Library on Friday, June 16 at 11:30 a.m.
Families enjoyed a great time together listening to the Mayor animatedly read the featured children’s book, "Good Morning, Canada," allowing those attendance to have fun with their imagination. Afterwards, the children sang songs, read some more stories together and blew bubbles with their loved ones. It was a great time for all!
