York Region public school board accepting parents committee applicants

The York Region District School Board is accepting applicants from parents for the parent, family and community engagement advisory committee.

The committee supports and increases parent engagement with the board to “improve student achievement and well-being,” the board’s press release says.

The term of office for being a committee member starts Nov. 14, 2017 while applications for membership are due Aug. 18, 2017.

The committee is a representative group of parents who have children attending public schools in York Region. Members are expected to attend six meetings each year at the Education Centre in Aurora.
