Province seeks applicants for grant program to promote diversity, inclusion

The provincial government is inviting non-profit community groups to apply for funding offered through a new grant program aimed at helping newcomers and multicultural communities “promote diversity and reduce barriers to inclusion”, according to a media release.

 

Applications are now being accepted for the Multicultural Community Capacity Grant Program, which supports non-profit organizations to offer projects that provide "opportunities for newcomers and ethno-cultural communities to fully participate in the civic, cultural, social and economic life of Ontario".

 

Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration staff members are holding an information session July 12 from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Markham Museum Outdoor Pavilion, 9350 Markham Rd. for those interested in finding out more about the program.

 

Eligible projects can receive $1,000 to $8,000.
